Holy shit! This IS happening! Those were my first thoughts when we discovered that my wife was pregnant with our first child. I mean, don’t get me wrong, we had been trying to get pregnant up until that point but for it to happen, for me to be face to face with that 99.999998% proof, I gotta say something changed inside me that night. I know that the first three months are the most critical, but this news kicked my ass in a good way. I know that when my wife finally gives birth, I’ll officially be a father, but I’ve felt like a dad ever since we found out.
Fast forward to 34 weeks and now things are getting really fucking crazy. Focusing on my wife’s belly for a few seconds makes me feel like I’m in a goddamn science fiction movie. I am freaked out every time I look at/touch that thing. It in no way grosses me out, it’s just the whole process that totally fucking blows my mind. Seeing what my wife has to go through every night, with this little person poking and squirming around in her belly, I have got say that you ladies are so brave for going through this whole process. As freaked out as I get with this whole thing, I will not be the one giving birth (thank god). This whole baby making thing is something else….
