It was announced today that the royal couple, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are expecting their first child!!! Something that the world has been waiting for from the minute they got married. Typically royal babies tend to make their grand entrance within the first year of marriage which has had everyone on their toes as William and Kate got married back in April of 2011.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby,” the palace said in a statement today. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
Kate is still in the very early stages of her pregnancy (apparently 12 weeks pregnant) and was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital today in central London with hyperemesis gravidarum (acute morning sickness). A statement was released saying that Kate is expected to stay in the hospital for several days followed by a rest period at home afterwards.
This is going to be the Queen’s third grandchild and as you can imagine everyone is very excited about the arrival of this bundle of joy!
