Memories to last a lifetime…

I still remember it like it was yesterday! It was my second Mother’s Day and I was days away from giving birth to my second daughter (Liliana). I was feeling so guilty knowing that my time alone with Samantha was coming to an end and it broke my heart. I was excited and happy about the baby on the way but still couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt that was eating away at me. I wanted to do something special for my Sammy Baby that Mother’s Day, something that was for just the two of us. I ended up booking us in for a Mother Daughter spa day at Glama Gal Tween Spa and it was amazing! We had a great time and needless to say she was beyond spoiled 😉 . We got our nails done, had facials, made perfume, took a pic together…you name it, we did it.

I’ll never forget it and apparently I’m not the only one. Although Samantha was one month shy of being 2 years old at the time she remembers every single detail and I’m not exaggerating when I say that either. Just the other day, out of the blue she says “Mamma remember when we went to Glama Gal just me and you?”. She’ll go on and on about how much fun she had and the things we did. I honestly can’t believe how she remembers considering how young she was at the time. Sometimes when I go check on her sleeping I find her hugging the framed photo of the two of us from that day…it’s the cutest thing ever!

Since then you can bet that we’ve been back to visit and with each visit Samantha gets more and more excited about it. She looks forward to our Glama Gal Mommy and Daughter spa days and so do I 😉 .

gg(Samantha’s first Glama Gal visit)

Recently we had the chance to visit one of their newest locations in Unionville and it’s just stunning! A beautiful little girl’s spa in heart of quaint little town. When Glama Gal does something they do it right and this location is no exception! They took a beautiful historic barn and turned it into a dream spa that any girl would die to visit. Talk about don’t judge a book by it’s cover! When you think about it, it’s actually perfect for Glama Gal because it’s just reinforces their who they are and what they’re about. They have it all…a little boutique for shopping, stations to create your own lip gloss, perfume, spa bubbles, body scrub, and glitter lotion, manicure stations, facial stations, pedicure stations, a make up area, and of course two beautiful areas to host parties and special events.

As a Mamma one of my favourite things about Glama Gal is what they stand for…Girls Leading And Motivating Altogether! They are all about empowering young women and teaching them about the power of positivity and doing good. In a world where bullying is happening more often than not, it’s fantastic to know that a place like Glama Gal exists. Teaching one another that it’s not ok to bully or be bullied no matter who you are or how old you are. It’s actually because of this reason that the Unionville location exists! Unionville owner Liz got to share her story with me and it’s truly inspiring. Working in the corporate world was not a piece of cake for Liz as she was a victim of bullying and it got to the point where she couldn’t deal with it anymore and she decided that enough was enough. It was at that point that she put her foot down, quit her job and opened up the Unionville Glama Gal franchise. She knew first hand what it felt like to be bullied and wanted to be a part of something that was positive and taught young girls that different is not bad and to always believe in who you are and what you are about. It’s just like sign on the front door of their Vaughan location says “No Gossip Allowed, No Copycats Allowed, No Bullying Allowed”.

The Glama Gal brand is one that as a Mamma of 2 young girls I can really stand behind. We are so lucky to have a place like this for our girls. It’s not about little girls going to the spa and getting their nails done…sure they do that but it goes beyond that. It’s about feeling good about yourself, being proud of who you are, knowing that if you can achieve anything just as long as you put your mind to it and it’s about treating others the way you want to be treated with respect and kindness.

Glama Gal has the Chic Mamma stamp of approval and I encourage you all to go and check it out. I can’t wait for their next Mamma and Daughter event because you can bet that Samantha, Liliana and I will be there 😉 .
