I was recently speaking with my cousin who shared with me the story of 28 year old Anthony Socci who was born with a rare disease called Fabry’s which attacks the heart and kidneys. Anthony has an enlarged heart and two completely destroyed kidneys functioning at less than 10% and decreasing. Most people with kidney diseases receive dialysis treatments two or three times a week, however Anthony spends five hours each and every day hooked up to the machine.
Now here’s where YOU come in! Anthony and his family are desperately looking for his HERO and it could very well be YOU! His blood type is O+ and nobody in his family is a match to be a donor but maybe you are and a kidney transplant is his only hope! Click here for more information on how you can become a live donor.
Step by Step Organ Transplant Association is working diligently with the Socci family to try and do whatever they can to help Anthony on this search for a matching kidney and whatever you can do to help create awareness for this cause would be greatly appreciated! Together Step by Step and the Socci family would like to invite you to “Anthony’s Hero Gala” on Saturday, January 26th 2013 at the Riviera Parque Convention Centre (located at 2800 Highway 7 West, Concord, Ontario). Tickets for the gala dinner (with door prizes, silent auction, live music, great bands, games, comedy show, special guests and MORE) are available for $100.00 each and with each ticket you will receive a $45 tax receipt. To purchase tickets please call Mary at 416.995.6232 or George at 416.651.6154.
If you are a business owner and would like information on sponsorship or advertising or would like to make donation for the silent auction please contact Mary at 416.995.6232.
To make a donation and help Anthony and his family raise money that will be used to find a donor, assist Torch of Life carrier Khaled during his journey from Ottawa to Toronto, create public awareness regarding organ and tissue donation, and hopefully, if successful, help Anthony with the recovery click here.
Please let’s do what we can to help Anthony find his HERO, who know’s it could be YOU!
